Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) focuses on healing-oriented techniques. It aims to transform patients by helping them process difficult emotional experiences. AEDP has roots in many other therapeutic approaches, such as interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, emotion theory and affective neuroscience, body-focused approaches and transformational studies.

AEDP seeks to help people develop the skills they need to address their painful experiences. It gives patients tools to face challenges when they arise. Consequently, patients often function with a greater sense of confidence.
