Full- and Part-time Psychologist

Aspire Psychology is a thriving multi-disciplinary private practice in downtown Portland, Oregon offering therapy and medication management. We are looking for a full-time psychologist (24 or more patient hours per week) and a part-time psychologist with the potential of room for growth (12 or more patient hours per week). Enjoy a flexible work schedule with options to work a hybrid model or fully in person in a central downtown location. As a member of a group practice you can also benefit from collaboration with our team of psychologists and psychiatric providers in weekly case consultation.

Practitioners trained in EMDR, or interested in obtaining credentials paid for by Aspire Psychology, are encouraged to apply!

Qualifications

Candidates must be licensed as a psychologist. Varying specializations and theoretical orientation are welcome and encouraged. Must pass state-required background check and a DMV check, and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Offer professional therapy services to adults and adolescents with mild to moderate mental health conditions
  • Maintain professional license in the state of Oregon
  • Maintain malpractice liability insurance
  • Conduct therapy sessions with clients using professional counseling standards for the following: treatment plans, assessments (if needed), and interventions according to professional standards; complete a comprehensive intake, and develop a diagnosis and treatment plan for each client
  • Follow legal and professional obligations, such as HIPAA compliance and confidentiality, as well as all federal, state and local legal guidelines, license criteria and applicable code of ethics
  • Maintain professional conduct in accordance with the brand and mission of Aspire Psychology

Assistant Practice Manager

This full-time position will include a mix of remote and on-site work and close collaboration with the Practice Manager on daily business operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 or more years in a mental health clinic (in the past 2 years)
  • 2 or more years of insurance verification of benefits including mental health benefits (in the past 2 years)
  • 2 or more years with electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR) systems (in the past 2 years)
  • 2 or more years of customer service

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree
  • Familiar with Google Suite, Intake Q and Therapy Notes (EHR)
  • Education in psychology or related subject
  • Experience with private commercial Oregon insurance health plans
  • Experience communicating with patients

Job Responsibilities: (this is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities)

  • Assist with all aspects of patient intake process, including monitoring of clinician openings and schedules, verifying patient benefits, thoroughly explaining benefits to patients, scheduling initial intake sessions, and obtaining and providing patient records for clinicians
  • Assist with building and maintaining patient health records, including creating patient charts, uploading intake documents into the EHR system, and managing all patient documents through lifespan of case
  • Assist with managing insurance and billing processes, including maintaining knowledge of psychiatric and psychotherapy CPT billing codes; discussing insurance and past due balances with patients; maintaining understanding of “in and out of network” insurance coverage; reading and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOBs); participating in monthly billing audits; and keeping up-to-date on insurance company updates, specific policy updates, patient policy renewals, and terminations
  • Assist with basic office tasks such as: mailing, faxing, and uploading documents; monitoring and following up on practice emails and voicemails; entering data into electronic systems; managing and updating team calendars; and organizing team events
  • Assist with networking and marketing for the practice, including tracking and sharing information about CE events for clinicians; sending flyers and emails out to the community alerting them of New Employees; and monitoring practice webpage for accuracy and updates
  • Assist all staff with all technical difficulties including but not limited to systems, programs, hardware, and Wi-Fi connection, etc.
