Dr. Laura Krumins, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist. She received her bachelor’s degree in nutritional science from the University of Nevada, Reno. She then completed her master’s and doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Pacific University. She takes a holistic approach to therapy, and her background in nutrition gives her an understanding of the impact of physical health on mental health.
Laura strives to help her patients reduce suffering and increase joy and connection. Reaching out for help can be difficult. She provides a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment, so that you feel empowered to confront challenging issues. Therapy with Laura will involve gaining an understanding of your strengths and challenges, collaboratively developing goals for treatment, and implementing tools and skills learned in therapy in order to live a more fulfilling, effective, and meaningful life.
Laura specializes in helping adults and older adolescents who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and sleep difficulties. She uses treatment methods that research has proven to be effective for many people. She primarily works from a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, while incorporating Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to best fit her patients’ needs. These methods help people respond more effectively to difficult thoughts and emotions and create opportunities for positive experiences. As an Air Force veteran and former military psychologist, Dr. Krumins has experience providing the gold standard in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
