Meet Brian Pollock

I’ve been practicing as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2019, working with people of all backgrounds and identities. Over the last decade and.a half, I have worked with underserved populations, individuals with intellectual disabilities, the general adult population, and—prior to joining Aspire—undergraduate and graduate level students.

Once I completed my Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Vanderbilt University in 2012, I began my career in a mood disorder research clinic. Ultimately, I decided against a research career of my own. (I sometimes say that my favorite research is someone else's research.) I discovered the part that’s most fulfilling to me is directly working with patients.

Today, my approach blends modalities and is always built on a collaborative foundation. This includes integrating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with medication management to help patients on their way to achieving balance and growth. I have expertise in mood disorders, particularly depression, bipolar and anxiety disorders. I am especially passionate about working with young adults, having dedicated 10 years to supporting students while working at a university counseling center.

I made it to Oregon by way of South Florida, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. I even lived in Spain for a year! My experience spans from working with individuals from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds to individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities. I value each person as they are, as an individual with their unique identity and experiences.

In my free time, I spend time with my wife and child, and our pets: Khepri, Ellie, Kirin, & Pinky. My rituals are what give me a sense of stability and continuity. Even when things get crazy and unpredictable, I know that something simple like making the perfect cup of coffee or going to the gym can anchor me in the moment.

“I’ve come to believe in the power of a welcoming space, and I’m excited to offer a warm reception to all my patients.”

We are here to help you thrive.
