PRACTITIONER

I’ve been practicing as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for nearly fifteen years, working with people of all backgrounds and identities. Over the last decade, I have worked with underserved populations, individuals with intellectual disabilities, the general adult population, and—prior to joining Aspire—undergraduate and graduate level students.

Once I completed my Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Vanderbilt University in 2012, I began my career in a mood disorder research clinic before focusing on clinical practice. Since then, I’ve come to believe in the power of a welcoming space, and I’m excited to offer a warm reception to all my patients.

Today, my approach to working with patients blends modalities, but is always built on a collaborative foundation. While I specialize in managing symptoms with appropriate medications, I like to incorporate dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) into my work with patients on their way to achieving balance and growth.

Beyond the practice, I spend my time with my wife and child, and our pets X, X, X, and X. My rituals are what keep me grounded. You’re most likely to find me at the gym, otherwise I’m probably preoccupied with brewing the perfect cup of coffee.

“My approach to working with patients blends modalities, but is always built on a collaborative foundation.”
