My therapy approach is tailored to each individual’s needs with an emphasis on honoring every person’s unique cultural identity. I value creating a safe space and strong therapeutic alliance where we can work collaboratively to identify goals, grow your inner strengths, and find ways to overcome the struggles that get in the way of you experiencing a fulfilling, meaningful life.
My educational journey began with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lewis & Clark College, followed by my master’s degree in special education from Portland State University.
My desire to learn more about the inner workings of the human mind led me to pursue my master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at Pacific University. I completed my doctoral internship at the Utah State University’s counseling center and my post-doctoral fellowship at the Counseling & Psychiatric Center at the University of Georgia.
Following my post-doctoral fellowship, I spent nearly 15 years helping students at university counseling centers at Western Washington University and Washington State University Vancouver, navigate growth, change, and identity exploration. During that time, I also served as the campus director of student wellness which included a lot of behind the scenes administrative and supervisory work.
Ultimately, I realized that the aspect I loved most about my work was the time I spent in therapy sessions with my patients, helping foster meaningful change in their lives. As part of the team at Aspire Psychology, I’ve been able to return to the work I find most fulfilling, being a therapist.
When I’m not helping my patients achieve a more balanced perspective, you will most likely find me reading, running, hiking, and backpacking, not just locally, but across the country as well. I love outdoor adventures, and nothing recharges me like a weekend backpacking trip in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
