Zaheeda Virani, PsyD

PSYCHOLOGIST

She/Her/Hers

My goal is to help others find their sense of belonging in the world while maintaining true to their values, cultural identities, and personal self. This requires an idiosyncratic approach for every individual, meeting each patient where they are in their journey, given their unique biopsychosocial backgrounds.

Together, we’ll collaborate to identify behaviors that may no longer be serving you, while simultaneously helping you to learn new adaptive ways of coping with adversity and, most importantly, emphasizing your strengths.

Having been born and raised in Vancouver, BC to minority, immigrant parents, the values of collectivism and service were ingrained into me from a young age. This desire to give back is what led me to the field of psychology. I followed that passion to Chicago, Illinois where I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in 2019. I graduated with a dual emphasis in Child & Adolescent Psychology and Advanced Adlerian Psychology.

Given my love for the Pacific Northwest, I moved back to Portland, OR for my doctoral internship at Pacific Psychology & Comprehensive Health Clinic. Subsequently, I completed my post-doctoral residency at the Children’s Program where I worked for two and a half years as a licensed psychologist providing therapy and psychological assessment to children and adolescents.

Even though we remain proud Canadians, my husband and I are happy to call Portland our home. You can often find us listening to music, binge watching our favorite shows, volunteering within our religious community or trying new restaurants with friends.
